Having mood swings? Pollution in the city could be the reason.

Are you feeling stressed or angry on your way back home?
Vehicular pollution is the reason. According to a survey attempted by Indian Institute of Science (IISC) air pollution not only affects the body but also the mind. Ninety percent of the people taking part in the survey approved that the working member of the family is more eased out and relaxed during the weekends then on weekdays. The pollution  in the city has an impact on the commuters on a daily bases. The most impact is on the people who commute  during peak hours for more than 12 kilometers.

Experts from the survey claim that pollution from the vehicles emits carbon monoxide which amalgamates with the hemoglobin and increases stress levels. Looking at the social aspects affected by pollution in the city, Dr.TV Ramachandra, Energy and Wetland Research Group, IISC heading this survey says that family members have witnessed behavioral changes in working members while they are on their way to work. The survey also claims that the pollution has doubled since  last ten years .In the process of carrying out the survey experts had to inspect the polluted and dusty roads nearly every day dividing the city into 12-14 sections and picking wards from different directions. The researchers picked 600 people from different backgrounds and were told to use their personal mode of transport. There was a detailed Q&A session with the families which lead to the succession of this survey.

The survey also found out that the rise in pollution levels could increase skin diseases like irritation, rashes etc. According to Dr. Ramachandra strict actions like a sustainable transport policy, guidelines to pollution control should be implemented by the government to reduce pollution levels in the city.
